We are happy to welcome young, talented BSc students in our research group, who are passionate about organic chemistry and green catalysis, to develop sustainable chemical reactions and be a part of an awesome team. Following the path of our latest discoveries, we aim to the development of novel carbene ligands for olefin metathesis and isomerization catalysts, those will serve the chemical recycling of persistent polymer wastes.
The task is the synthesis of novel functionalized CAAC and related carbene ligand structures and their complexation to ruthenium(II) species. The synthetized complexes and intermediates shall be analytically characterized, the synthetic procedure to be optimized and well-documented in lab-books and reports. Then, the synthetized organometallic complexes will be tested in sustainable catalytic reactions.
